Covid-19 - Protecting and Respecting Each Other

As surveyors, our work involves inspecting your homes and property, and we are mindful of your concerns and committed to minimising risk. Therefore we have strict health and safety guidelines regarding the virus.

What precautions have we implemented?

We are a family business, and from the onset of the pandemic we and our team, have been careful to keep our social and family bubble to an absolute minimum. In addition, we check our temperatures and self-test.

Our minimum PPE is a mask, gloves, and face shields, all of which are disposable. Hands are sanitised, and hand wipes are used immediately before entry to your home. All equipment is sanitised before and after each inspection. Keys and all handheld equipment are sanitised in a UV lightbox before and after each inspection.

We have a strictly ‘no handshake’ policy, and we keep our distance.

In the event, our team displays symptoms of Covid-19 they will self isolate, and we will carry out self-assessments. Testing to check for the coronavirus and staying at home until we get the result. We will, of course, have to cancel our inspection until we are confident we are all clear.

We will rearrange the inspection, and in some circumstances, a delay in the process is likely to arise.

How can you help?

If possible, and in order to help reduce the risk of spreading the virus, protecting yourself and the surveyor, and our team, we request your help as follows:

During inspections inevitably some surfaces will be touched by the gloved hand, for example, windows and door furniture, taps, flush handles, etc..

Therefore before our arrival, it would be beneficial to minimise contact with surfaces therefore if you could carry out the following:

  1. Ensure all doors open

  2. Ensure all rooms are well lit and not dark

  3. Ensure all windows are open- even slightly helps, and clear window sills.

  4. Ensure the stop tap is easy to access

  5. Ensure the consumer unit is easy to access

  6. Ensure the boiler is easy to access

  7. Ensure the garage doors are open and easy to access.

We then request that you vacate the property OR maintain social distance and/or wear a mask while the inspection takes place.

If the Surveyor feels vulnerable it will be suggested you contact the office to re-arrange your inspection date.

We apologise in advance but feel that this is the only way we can continue to work in safety.

Please give our team space to carry out the inspection, if our team feel that they may be compromised in any way they will not carry out the inspection and will leave. Please contact the office to arrange a new appointment.

In addition, prior to our inspection, we are respectfully asking occupants of the homes, regardless of whether the person or persons are present during the inspection to complete the following questionnaire, and return to help us protect ourselves and others, if the form is not returned then we reserve the right to cancel the inspection:

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we have a duty to you, ourselves and other households we visit to be a careful and as practical as possible and help reduce the risk of spreading the virus. Thank you for your assistance, “Stay Safe” and good health in these challenging and unusual times.
